Biodiversity refers to the variety and variability of life forms within a particular ecosystem, region, or on the planet as a whole. It includes all living organisms, from plants and animals to fungi and microorganisms, and encompasses the genetic diversity within species, the variety of species, and the ecosystems they form.
At Healthy Seas, we are committed to protecting marine biodiversity by removing harmful waste—such as abandoned fishing nets, also known as ghost nets—from the ocean. Through our clean-up activities and partnerships, we help restore marine ecosystems and create healthier habitats for countless species that rely on the sea for survival.

Art can give voice to even the smallest wave. This section includes creative projects that help children reflect on what they’ve learned and express their feelings about the ocean through hands, hearts, and imagination.
