Twenty 11-year old kids from “Eugenio Montale” school in Milan, Italy, took part in our education programme that included a cleanup of the local park in Bollate on Friday, September 24th.

It was a fun day for the young students who after so many months of lockdown had their first educational outing!

Glauco and Isabella were there to lend us a hand as volunteers. Isabella’s brand Zancobel is one of our most recent partners and she showcased a real-life example of what happens with the nets that we collect since the activewear products use ECONYL® yarn, made from old fishing nets and other nylon waste.

Through a presentation about Healthy Seas, ghost fishing and circular economy as well as interactive games, we raised awareness about  marine pollution and the solutions offered through science and innovation.

Hyundai Italy also joined the event and exhibited their new IONIQ 5.  The kids took turns stepping inside the electric SUV and learned all about its sustainable materials and features. Since the announcement of the partnership back in April, Hyundai has been supporting Healthy Seas by providing funding towards the implementation of clean-up and educational activities across Europe.
