Last weekend the annual beach clean-up on the Dutch Wadden island of Terschelling took place. More than 160 volunteers collected many bags of debris from the beach, including one full BigBag of fishnets weighing more or less one ton! These nets are going to be recycled by Healthy Seas.

As well as cleaning the beach, a beautiful decorated net-collection pole was set up. Beach visitors can hang the nets they collect on this pole. This way, Healthy Seas will continue to cooperate with the municipality of Terschelling, its beachcombers and the Association for the Wadden Sea for a fishnet-free beach.

The WaddenWorkWeekend 2015 was organized by the Dutch Association for the Wadden Sea in cooperation with Healthy Seas.
