To celebrate Earth Day this year, Healthy Seas organised three education and awareness raising events in Europe and we supported two more in Los Angeles, California!

In Croatia, 200 students of Milan Brozović elementary had a wonderful time with our volunteer, Velimir, learning a lot about ghost gear, its impacts on marine life and around the topic of sustainability.

Visitors of the Civil Society Festival in Athens, Greece were able to try our Virtual Reality experience and watch the screening of our award-winning documentaries “Journey to Ithaca” and “Healthy Seas: Mission in Santorini“.  Volunteers of Ghost Diving Greece, jumped in the pool for a ghost net removal demonstration that the public attended with huge enthusiasm. At the same time, our volunteers engaged small children with a workshop and the Healthy Seas Virtual Reality Experience at the Goulandris Natural History Museum, in Athens.

Across the pond on the same day, Ghost Diving USA volunteers with support from DWS volunteers, engaged the public at two different events in Los Angeles, California.

Education is a main focus for Healthy Seas. We strive to make a positive and long-lasting impact to the marine environment, as well as the development of society, through education and awareness raising, involving stakeholders from various sectors.
