On January 24th, World Education Day, we kicked off this year’s education programmes with our partner in Croatia, Velimir Vrzić. On this day, Velimir, who is also a volunteer with Ghost Diving Adriatic, visited the “Vazmoslav Gržalja” elementary school in Buzet, Istria.
This particular programme was quite special, bringing together many schools in the Istria area that each sent 2 student representatives to learn about marine pollution, ghost fishing, our work and circular solutions. Following the Healthy Seas workshop, the students are empowered to become multipliers and spread their new found knowledge to their schools, peers and families.
In total, 60 student representatives from 16 classes were trained and will reach 480 students with the activities they will implement.
