We are excited to introduce you to our new partner, Earnest, an app that offers a playful way to improve your everyday life while saving money. Users earn points and Earnest donates to Healthy Seas!
Our volunteer, Ramona, tested it for you over the course of a month and she has written a review:
Earnest is a beautifully designed app that helps you to make your home more environmentally friendly in a very fun and accomplishable way. It offers a section with tips, information and expert articles about energy saving, sustainability, dietary choices, recycling and so much more!
While using the Earnest app over the last four weeks I really learned a lot on top of the things I was already aware of.
The best thing about Earnest is its fun and playful setup. Through daily and weekly challenges that I choose to take part in I quickly earned enough “points” to make a direct donation to Healthy Seas while I reduced my energy costs!
Did you know that turning off your office appliances completely – instead of using the “power saving” mode – in the evening can save you a great amount of money? Or how the energy used by your fridge increases by 10% if its door seal isn’t working properly?
I didn’t know, then I checked, it did leak, and I fixed it within 5 minutes.
It was really cool to be able to instantly collect some “points” for improving my home!
To sum it up: If you’re looking for an easy-to-use and beautifully designed app to help you advance your journey to a more environmentally friendly lifestyle – or simply save money – look no further!
Turning off her laptop in the evening, making sure to turn off the heating while correctly airing the bathroom and using more sustainable options for dental hygiene were her biggest take-aways from trying out Earnest, our new partner.
