Menswear luxury brand Brioni joined the Healthy Seas Initiative, and is providing support through the sale of sustainable notebooks in selected Brioni stores worldwide.

The notebook covers are made of unused fabrics from the production of Brioni’s exclusive garments. The notebooks also contain a bookmark explaining the mission of the Healthy Seas Initiative, as well as Brioni’s participation. The notebooks will be available in-store from December 2016, and 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the initiative.

Aquafil President Giulio Bonazzi applauded the campaign, stating “Brioni is giving back to the planet by taking a stand on ocean waste. This shows that all companies, big and small, can play a part in the circular economy.”

The Healthy Seas Initiative is a joint venture of Aquafil, Star Sock and ECNC Group – two businesses and a non-governmental organization that share a common mission: to clean the oceans of marine litter such as abandoned fishing nets, which are responsible for the needless death of marine animals. Healthy Seas is an open initiative which welcomes other partners to join.
